Women's Wisdom Wednesdays: Take Off Your Running Shoes

Take Off Your Running Shoes

Two nights ago, I was talking to my best friend, the love of my life and one of the closest and most amazing Spirits my Spirit has ever known.  We were discussing an issue that I recognized I needed to work on.  He said,

"Let me let you in on something.  When you run from things, you run and you run and you think you have left it behind.  But, then...when you stop and turn around, it is right behind you...or right beside you...or right inside you."

I fell asleep with those words echoing in my head and in the morning, when I arose to greet the morning sun, all I heard was...

"...Just Wouldn't Stay Away..."

Are there things in your life that you just cannot shift?  These can be people, situations, problems, emotional responses, etc.

What things are we holding onto, simply because we are not doing the work to actually move forward?  Many times, we are presented with events in life and we may be presented with those exact same events repeatedly (often times in various forms or in ways that differ slightly) until we take responsibility and ensure that we have actually learned whatever lesson the said event arose to teach us.

There are blessings inside of every lesson, we need only make the decision or the choice to see them.  It is hard to be aware of the good in a situation if we constantly run from it.

"You're running and you're running, but you can't run away from yourself."

Some of us go to painful extremes to run away from the lessons that will assist us in our evolution on this plane.  Distractions, addictions, even suicidal thoughts are entertained in order to avoid that which may, in all honesty, bring us closer to the best and purest parts of ourselves.

Today, I arm myself with the wisdom and utilize the tools that will assist me to heal my Self.  I am making time to meditate and journal and to converse with my Self and to be honest with my Self.  Only in these ways can I be accountable for my actions, my healing and my growth process.

Keep Calm and Take Your Time.
Honor your process.  Be patient with yourself.
Remember the lesson of the tortoise...slow and steady wins the race.

Be Peace...Be Love...Be Better

  1. very true...sometime people ask how can I write about my past when it has been so full of challenges...
I write to find the good in it, the lesson, so I can move past it and understand how it impacts my behaviour- then I can focus on what I want to embrace and what I want to better,
if you just try to pretend that nothing ever happened you end up repeating the same lesson... mine have been hard, so I don't intend on returning if I can help it :)
A great write, wonderful advice for us all Nura.
    Love you
