Golden Growth
“When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold. They believe that when something’s suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful.”
- Billie Mobayed
This morning, I awoke before the Sun in order to reflect on where I have been and to envision where I am going from here. Most importantly, I meditated on where I am in this very moment.
We are blessed to be in the midst of an amazing time of enlightenment and change. This change brings about one of two things: resistance or growth. Those of us who are “stuck in our ways” or resisting change will have a difficult time dealing with any challenges that arise. As the planets re-align, we must follow suit; as above, so below. As within, so without. If, however, we choose to embrace change, we will be walking confidently towards our destiny, growing gloriously in the meanwhile.
Trusting the Process
When addressing a body of students once, Lauryn Hill spoke about the “peaks and valleys” in our lives being times of “study and mastery” or “learning and mastery”. These “ups and downs” will always co-exist. As the yin-yang symbol represents, life is a continuous flow of energy…a duality that must be interdependent in order for the whole to fully realize it’s potential. Potentially, we can learn to be at our best during this entire cycle of ebb and flow. Here are a few Universal Tools that can be used to assist us in this journey:

Potentially, we can learn to be at our best during this entire cycle of ebb and flow. Here are a few Universal Tools that can be used to assist us in this journey:
- Meditation – The state of being between a fully aware, completely conscious state and sleep. When I hear “medi-“, I automatically think “middle…balanced”, and that is exactly what meditation is used to do! Meditating for as little as ten minutes a day will help to settle your thoughts and reduce your brain waves momentarily, thus providing you with more fertile soil to plant seeds of greatness mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. This month, Hoe Mama ™ is spearheading a movement called, “The Stillness Project”. For just 2 minutes a day, people all over the world are taking time to be quiet and to give their minds time to rest and rejuvenate. For more information, check out this link:
- Affirmations – “In the beginning was the word.” John 1:1. In this simple (yet pregnant) statement, the Bible introduces us to the power of our word sound. A few days ago, I was watching a dvd on Quantum Astrology and the presenter, Rick Levine, said that “word” was not properly translated in the above quote. In fact, while “logos” is used to represent “word”, it also means having the logic to know how to use the words that we are sending out into the Universe. Our words have weight, power, and purpose. We must ensure that we use language that assists us to raise our vibration and be better.
- Visualization – This is one of my favorite tools. Visualizing can be as simple as closing your eyes and picturing what you need or desire. You can also choose to make a vision board. Vision boards are so fun and simple to do and they not only decorate your walls, adding flair and style to rooms in your house; vision boards are much more than just pretty objects on a piece of cardboard stuck on your wall. Having these visuals in clear view on a daily basis will keep them present in your psyche and you will literally shorten the amount of time it takes to attract things to you.
I speak about these in this video:
This week, my beautiful environmentalist SiStar, Cris I-Verse, asked me if I had ever grown. She meant, “Have you ever tried to grow a flower…plant, etc.” What I heard was, “If you haven’t tried to grow in EVERY sense of the word…have you ACTUALLY grown?” As we move closer to summer, let’s seek to grow in every area of our existence. Make a commitment to empower yourself and grow beautifully…wildly, if you will. Once that seed germinates inside of you, pass it on and help others grow, too.
Be Peace…Be Love…Be Better
